The Handmade issue of
Wallpaper* is back. With a bang. A step away from the usual design work I post about, this stitched brilliance took my fancy - part of the showcase at this year's Salone del Mobile.
When the world's masters of design, craftsmanship and manufacturing are together in the same place at the same time, something sublime results. Just check how
Wallpaper*'s Handmade 2011 issue was upped a notch. Making front page with 420gsm white watercolour paper, five colours of cotton thread, and a heck of a lot of talent, was the stitched beauty by Peter Crawley. Aside from this boy obviously having aced home economics, he's collaborated with some top illustrators and
design buffs to create some more heavenly thread-work.
